AstroSelf

A calm daily read of your day, worked out from your own birth chart, the planets as they are now and the Moon. Support, answers and how to reach me.

About AstroSelf

AstroSelf shows a daily Cosmic Score from 0 to 100, worked out from your birth chart, where the planets are today and the phase of the Moon, with a short note on what is shaping it.

The same birth details also feed six world traditions: Vedic, BaZi, Hellenistic, Persian, Tibetan and Mesoamerican. There is no account, and your name and birth details stay on your iPhone.

AstroSelf is for reflection and entertainment. See the FAQ below for what that means.

It helps to say which iPhone and iOS version you have, and what you expected to see.

Questions & answers

How do I add or edit a birth time or place?

Open Settings in the app and choose Edit on the person. You can change the name, birth date, birth time and birthplace there. The time and place are optional, but a birth time is needed for the Ascendant, houses and the natal chart wheel to be exact.

Why does it need the internet?

The planet positions come from the public ephemeris.fyi service, so the app needs a connection to fetch them. There is no account and nothing to sign up for. What is sent is set out in the privacy policy. Once fetched, your natal chart is kept on your phone, and if you are offline the app shows your last reading and says so.

What is free and what is Pro?

Free: today’s Cosmic Score and the story behind it, and the home-screen widget.

Pro: all six dimensions every day, the Moon, cosmic events (transits), your natal chart, the six world traditions, the calendar for any day, and daily reminders.

Pro is £0.99 a month or £9.99 a year (prices may vary by country). It renews automatically until you cancel, and is billed by Apple.

How do I cancel or manage my subscription?

On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top (Apple ID), then Subscriptions and choose AstroSelf. You can cancel or change plan there. To avoid being charged for the next period, cancel at least 24 hours before the current one ends. Apple handles the billing, so I cannot cancel or refund a subscription for you; refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

How do I restore purchases?

In AstroSelf, tap See plans to open the plans screen, then Restore Purchases. Sign in to the same Apple ID you bought with. This is also what to do after installing on a new iPhone.

How do I delete my data?

In the app’s Settings, press and hold a person, or use the bin button, to remove them along with their charts and scores. Deleting the app removes everything it holds. I never receive your details, so there is nothing for me to delete on my side. If you use iCloud or computer backups of your iPhone, copies of the app’s data stay in those backups until they are replaced or deleted.

Is it accurate? Is it advice?

The planetary positions are calculated astronomical data, but what a score or reading means is interpretation, not science. AstroSelf is for reflection and entertainment. Its scores and readings are not predictions, and they are not medical, financial, legal or other professional advice.
